Pashupatinath Temple is a Hindu temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, dedicated to the Hindu god Pashupati. In 1979, the temple was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This "sprawling array of temples, ashrams, statues and inscriptions constructed throughout the centuries along the banks of the sacred Bagmati river" is one of seven monument groupings in UNESCO's classification of Kathmandu Valley.The temple is one of the continent's Paadal Petra Sthalams.
